I can tell you exactly how you can get ripped abs as fast as possible. With the fitness industry reaching more and more people these days, everyone wants to know how to get diced. What to do, when to do it, how long to do it for, whatever the question may be.
The answer is: there are several ways, but the best way is the by using a method that works best for your lifestyle. This is because consistency is your biggest ally in the war against fat. If you can be consistent with a routine, you win.
Now, when I say consistent, I mean doing a routine for 3 months or longer. If you have the drive to make this a lifestyle change, and you can continue being fit for the rest of your life, good for you. That’s the true goal, but start with baby steps. Try a few things here and there. Anyways, the question being posed here is: what does it take to get ripped? Well I’ve got all the answers for you. Here are the different possible methods to start losing fat now.
The most prominent: cutting calories.
This one is by far most popular. The basic idea is to simply eat less. Whether that means controlling proportions of meals or skipping a meal here and there, it’s pretty cut and dry. Does it work? Yes. If you are burning more calories than you are taking in, you WILL lose weight.
Downsides: hunger pangs, you have to count calories, you need to know how many calories you’re burning day to day. I don’t recommend this one because I believe there are more favorable and more effective methods. Let’s assume you DO use this method.
Google your basal metabolic rate. You can easily calculate how many calories you burn even if you don’t move an inch all day long. Then add the number of calories you burn from exercise. Now, just be sure to eat fewer calories than you burn. (BMR or basal metabolic rate + calories burned from exercise = total calories burned on a given day.) Now just eat less than that by 300 to 500 calories.
The least prominent, but my favorite by far: intermittent fasting.
Intermittent fasting is gaining more and more traction these days, and it’s understandable why. The science doesn’t lie. Do your research to find out how effective intermittent fasting really is. It’s healthy contrary to popular belief, and you will find soon enough that I am sold on the concept and wholeheartedly embrace the method. I even have it incorporated in the TarzanBuilt eBook. Same as ketogenic, I have lost 20 pounds in a month using this method. Here’s my article on intermittent fasting. Fat loss is significant in fasting protocols!
The best intermittent fasting protocol is one meal a day, 1/24 hour ratio of fasting. Sounds unhealthy right? Well it’s actually not! You just have to research it to decide for yourself! There are less rigorous methods of IF such as an 8/16 ratio of fasting. Feed for 8 hours of the day and fast for the remaining 16. Maybe something in between would be better for you!
My new find, also one I recommend: ketogenic diet.
The ketogenic diet just swept the nation. I would say this is the quickest way to ripped abs! It’s basically cutting nearly all carbohydrates from your daily diet. The only small number of carbs you can have must come from vegetables. Healthy fats are where the bulk of your calories are supposed to come from. So protein, protein, protein, and healthy greens. I love this diet. Still not as highly praised as intermittent fasting, but it’s still incredibly effective. I’ve lost 20 pounds in a month using this method. Here’s my post on my experience with the ketogenic.
If you’re not using some form of one of these 3 methods, you simply won’t lose weight. You can never outwork a bad diet. Diet is everything. Does a good physical training program help? Heck yes, but a good diet is the quickest way to a lean lifestyle.
- Staying in a calorie deficit (burning at least 200 calories more than your taking in everyday.)
- Intermittent fasting! (Use the 1/24 hour ratio which is one meal a day or at the opposite end of the spectrum use the 8/16 hour ratio which is feeding for 8 hours and fasting the remaining 16.)
- Ketogenic (There’s nothing that says fat burning quite like a low carb diet, and this one is very popular. Knock the carbs down to 20-30 grams a day, and lose that fat!)
