Just so you guys know, I have been able to lose 20 pounds a month on this diet!
If you, like me, found excellent results in the ketogenic diet, then you know how hard it is to give up carbohydrates. It’s definitely a huge challenge, but it is one worth achieving. Having used this diet extensively, I’ve figured out a few good tricks and meals that will help you curb your cravings and hunger. Don’t be the guy that eats a dozen eggs and a few slices of cheese every single day for a month (yes, I did that). Here are some more rounded ketogenic meals! 4 eggs fried in coconut oil, seasoned with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Fried bell peppers, on the side, seasoned with pepper. Isopure protein shake, but get vanilla because the chocolate doesn’t taste very good.
Grilled steak seasoned with olive oil, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and onion powder. Grilled onion slices and mushrooms seasoned with garlic powder, and a steak sauce I like to mix up (Worcestershire sauce, pinch of turmeric, pepper, onion powder, and soy sauce).
Grilled chicken breast seasoned with pepper, lemon juice, salsa, and salt. Grilled zucchini spears seasoned with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Fried kale seasoned with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Bacon strips atop a pile of kale, spinach, shredded cheese, cashews, season this salad with olive oil and pepper. It’s delicious. This one is simple, but it’s one salad I actually enjoy. If you need some crunch in your diet, this is a good one.
Shrimp, snow peas, fried in coconut oil, seasoned with lemon pepper. I even just get the shrimp cocktail sometimes and splurge on carbs, but do your best to limit it.
Basically this is just a cheeseburger without the bun. Hamburger patty, with melted cheese on top, lettuce, pickles, tomato, and low sugar ketchup.
This one is almost a cheat meal, but not quite. My local Chinese restaurant has a dish called pepper beef. It only has beef with onions and peppers. I just ask for the sauce on the side so I can regulate how many carbs I take in through that.
Here’s a list of things that might help you out while on the ketogenic diet:
- The brand Isopure has zero carb protein products
- Atkins has zero carb protein shakes
- SmartBuns is a low carb hamburger bun
- MiracleNoodle makes a zero carb noodle
- Vodka has no carbs!
- If you need carbonation, seltzer water has no carbs!
- Lemon juice concentrate has no carbs
- So mix yourself up a vodka, lemon juice, and seltzer water drink! But be wary about alcohol in ketosis.
Note: feel free to have a beer or glass of wine now and then, because you might be surprised how many carbs are actually in a single alcoholic drink. Do limit alcohol because it can be dangerous to drink too much if you’re in ketosis.
Hope you enjoy some of these meals. I try to switch it up as much as possible to stay motivated!
