How many toxins do you think your body is saturated with? More than we can count is the answer. Every time you inhale chemicals, smoke, or cleaning products, you inhale toxins. Every time you eat something processed, artificially dyed or flavored, or genetically modified, you are taking in toxins. There has never been an era that needs to detox more! Not only is a detox drink a great way to be healthier, you may also lose some unwanted fat because toxins are often stored in fat cells. Without further ado here are my top 5 detoxifying drinks.
Do not underestimate this one. It’s deceptively simple, but it’s also an excellent detoxifying agent. Not only does vitamin C cleanse the body of unwanted toxins, it also keeps our digestion system regular. The acidity of the lemon juice is also a great way to push the body towards an alkaline state. When the body is in an alkaline state it starves out disease and illness. Every morning when I wake up I squeeze a lemon into a glass of water. It’s also delicious! Not like all detox drinks.
Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar (with mother)
Don’t get the apple cider vinegar without mother. It won’t do you a bit of good. However, Bragg’s ACV does have mother in it. Mother is the sediment that sits at the bottom of the ACV. It’s the mark of healthy organic vinegar. This also steers our body toward the alkaline state. Just like lemon water it keeps our digestive system regular. Many would say that disease starts in the gut, and I agree. Throw a couple of teaspoons into a glass of water. It’s not really as bad as you think. Just drink it already. There are plenty of detox drinks that taste much better. Try a green drink.
Juiced Greens Drink
Go out into your garden. Pick a handful of spinach, kale, cilantro, and parsley. Even grab some lamb’s quarters. Lamb’s quarters are a weed that is incredibly nutritious. Take the leaves off of it, and throw it into the juicer with the rest of these greens. Cilantro and parsley are known for pulling heavy metals out of your system. You may not realize that you have heavy metals in your system, but you do. Kale and spinach are just known to be some of the most nutrient dense greens and also include detox properties like chlorella and many others. It’s not going to taste awesome until you put a couple green apples in the mix. Then it will. So have at it! Now we’ll move onto the teas.
This detox drink has gained a ton of popularity over the past couple years. The story is that an Asian village drank copious amounts of it daily. Oddly enough the village also happened to be devoid of cancer. In the village there was absolutely no cancer or history of cancer. Interesting coincidence, am I right? Kombucha tea also has a ton of probiotics. Probiotics also promotes a healthy gut. Another interesting concept, am I right?
Go to your local health food store and get what you need to start making these drinks. Let’s make a healthier world so we can better love each other! Enjoy!
